3rd Global Action Meeting

The two-day symposium will include oral communications, poster presentations, WG meetings as well as plenty of opportunities to interact with everyone active in the field of LUCES.

Online participation to the oral communications (only passive attendance) and the Management Committee meeting will be offered. Registration is also mandatory for online attendance.

    • Deadline for pre-registration & abstract submission for Action members requesting financial support from LUCES (abstract template)
  • 20 February 2026
    • Notification of abstract acceptance for a poster, flash or oral communication
    • Notification of eligibility for reimbursement by the COST Action

Late registration for attendance in person and for a poster communication can be accepted till March 31st (without possibilities of reimbursement).

Late registration for online attendance will be accepted till April 10th.

Programme

The GAM will be held from April 20 at 9 a.m. to April 21 at 5:00 p.m., followed by the annual MC meeting (5:00-6:00 p.m.).

The conference programme consists of 25 oral communications covering the different topics of the Action. Flash and poster session will also be organized.

All scientific activities will take place at the History Museum of the University of Athens, in the heart of the renowned Plaka district.

A welcome drink will be held there on Sunday evening, and lunch will be provided on site on Monday and Tuesday.

Athens is easily accessible from most major European cities by air, with numerous daily direct flights operated by both regular and low-cost airlines to Athens International Airport – Elefthérios Venizélos (ATH).

COST Funding

Up to 58 participants may receive financial support from the LUCES COST Action (reimbursement of travel expenses + daily allowance).

Eligibility criteria:

  • Being a WG member of LUCES, or having a direct supervisor who is a WG member of LUCES (the supervisor’s name must be provided on the registration form).
  • Registering by 6 February.

The Core Group will manage the selection according to COST rules and inclusiveness criteria. Priority will be given to active participants submitting an abstract by 6 February.
