Travel
– By Air
• Zadar Airport (ZAD)
Zadar has an airport which is at 10 kilometre distance from the city. Bus runs regularly between the airport and the main bus station (7-minute walk from the hotel).
• Split Airport (SPU)
Split is approximately 130 km by road. It is around 1,5 hours by car, and between 2,5 and 3 hours by bus.
UPDATE: The organizers will not be offering group transfers from Split airport. However, if participants would like to arrange to share a cab or rental car, we invite them to fill in the following file with their contact details and flight schedule.
For those entitled to reimbursement, please note that
-
- Cabs are not eligible for Long-Distance Travel reimbursement.
- Car rental from Split airport can however be covered by a flat-rate indemnity (0.35€/km) on submission of a parking receipt for the entire stay. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
• Zagreb Airport (ZAG)
It is Croatia’s largest international airport, offering more international flights and year-round connections. Domestic flights from Zagreb to Zadar takes about 45 minutes, but availablity may be limited. By bus the journey takes approx. 3,5 to 4 hours (shuttle to Zagreb’s main station bus, then intercity buses like FlixBus, Croatia Bus and Autotrans).
– By Road
Zadar is easily accessible by car or bus from other European countries via Croatia’s well-developed highway network.
International bus services connect Zadar with cities such as Vienna, Munich, and Ljubljana.
– By Train
Although Zadar has a train station, the rail connections are limited. The best option for train travelers is to arrive in Zagreb and take a bus to Zadar.
Funding
Around 60 participants, members of the Action (including members of their group) and having pre-registered before 16/02, can be supported by the COST Action (reimbursement of travel expenses + daily allowance of 150€/night). The Core Group will manage the selection according to COST rules and inclusiveness criteria. Priority will be given to active participants submitting an abstract.
